Based in Toronto Canada, Empress Minott is recognized on Reggae circuits as a beautiful, easygoing and stylish woman with an ultra bright infectious smile and unbounded musical and creative talents. Her vocal style and lyrical turns floats audiences through a well harnessed ability to perform songs that stir the heart and feeds the soul. Born in Portland Jamaica West Indies this show stopping songstress entered the world as Elecia Minott (formerly known by the stage name “Dream”). Empress Minott is today known as a creative award winning Jamaican Roots & Culture music expressionist and songwriter; With music surging through her veins, her high energy performances are uplifting with a special majestic fiery flare that immediately calls to mind the charismatic performances of many of the Reggae greats who paved the way before her. Empress Minott records a continual stream of conscious new wave Reggae singles that serves to elevate the minds of listeners which in turn has significantly added to her growing popularity and fan base. Performances of original songs like "Stumbling Blocks" and “Stop Di Fighting” have kept her an artist of special interest among fans and her recently released single “Doing It” is already earning considerable airplay and the continual support among listeners who easily identify with her deep rich soulful sound and expertly constructed lyrics that flow. Everything considered, the key to Empress Minott's music stretches well beyond her recognizable family name and savors in her natural ability to breathe life into Reggae music giving her songs a distinctive creative edge and life of its own that unfailingly energizes audiences. Very early in her career starting in 2009, Empress Minott was recognized and honored with a prestigious nod in the form of a nomination from the Canadian Reggae Music Awards for her overall performances and original lyrics. By 2011 she steadily rose in professional recognition winning the elite organizations Reggae Music Achievement Award for “Best Promising Reggae Artist.” In a trend that continues, songs by Empress Minott have made waves on the Canadian Reggae circuit including "Respect" a single taken from her freshman album Natural Healer that made its way to the Rebel Vibes Top Ten Reggae Charts and later winning the Reggae Single of The Year award (2011) from the Youth in Progress Awards Show . Two additional original songs from the same album “Shine” and “Nothing Can Compare” also enjoyed praise worthy recognition, airplay and sales of singles on the European Reggae market. In 2012 Empress Minott experienced her first major commercial breakthrough with her single "Show Me" produced by Sly & Robbie and Leroy Brown. The song was well received in Europe this time earning her the number two spot on the United Kingdom program Karma Reggae ShowTop 10 Count Down Reggae Chart. To her credit, Empress Minott also holds the distinction of being the first Reggae artist to have two original songs on the Karma Reggae Show charts for the songs "Treat Her Right” and "More Than Love" (that remained in the number one spot for three consecutive weeks). In the United States her single “Show Me” made its way onto the Rico Vibes Top Ten Reggae Charts on the DaFlav Radio Show in Atlanta, Georgia where it remained for nine consecutive weeks holding the number four spot for a solid three. As a winner of numerous awards in a budding career, a few of Empress Minott's notable achievements includes the Peabo Award for Best Female Singer of the Year 2011 2012 which she won by an uncharacteristic unanimous vote, and in 2012 for the second year in a row she won a Youth in Progress Award this time as Best Reggae Singer of the Year (2012). In 2014 Empress Minott brought home the Reggae Exclusive Awards for Reggae Singer of the Year in Toronto, Canada. No stranger to local area, regional or festival stages with intimate to massive audience attendance, Empress Minott has proven that she excels in live performances that has resulted in opportunities to share the stage with highly acclaimed Reggae artists including: recent Grammy Award winners Morgan Heritage, Taurus Riley, Romain Virgo, Gyptian, Luciano, L.U.S.T, Lutan Fyah, Bushman, Cocoa T, Pinchers, Dobby Dobson, Daddy URoy, General Trees and of course the late great Sugar Minott among others. Memorable career highlights for this Roots Reggae diva on the rise were special invitations to perform alongside JUNO Award winning reggae artists Blessed and Exco Levi and, an invitation leading to the opportunity to perform at the 23 rd Annual Bob Marley Celebration in Negril Jamaica commemorating the King of Reggae's 70’th birthday in 2015. Also a talented writer, in 2013 Empress Minott published a book entitled “Empress Minott’s Inspirational Quotes”
Inspired by motivational encouragement lovingly offered to family and friends going through a rough time in their lives, and her interest in helping others. The book was well received opening the door for her to share select quotes on three Canadian radio programs over the next two years. Characteristic of everything she writes Empress Minott reflects: “ I write to uplift and elevate my thoughts and also to motivate people who may need encouragement.” Current creative projects includes filming a new video in Jamaica W.I. for the song “ Doing It” which is scheduled for release in 2016. Empress Minott is currently poised for touring the world as a solo artist and whenever possible backed by her sensational professional band Step By
